Beryl was one of the Rylstone and District Women’s Institute members  who posed for an alternative calendar to raise money for the Leukaemia Research Fund in 2000. Their story has since become famous all over the world.

Beryl said that she had been to several productions of the play since the licence recently became available to amateur groups, and had enjoyed the show.

Thespians’ president Steve Marsden commented:”It was an honour and a delight to meet Beryl and her husband. We were thrilled that they made time to come and see us.”
